Gary McNab is the founder of The Code Show.
With over 30 years working experience within STEM related industries, from manufacture of printed circuit boards for the telecommunications sector, through to engineering in the aerospace industry for commercial and military clients, Gary brings a wealth of hands on experience into the education sector.
Teaching computing in primary education, he identified an area of the new computing curriculum which did not celebrate Britain’s history or prowess. In creating The Code Show its mission is to give students in their learning environment hands on experience with machines that helped Britain shape the digital world.
In this exclusive interview with Johanna Hamilton from The British Computer Society, Gary shares the history behind his project and why experiencing past technologies inspires the programmers of the future.
